Fell off the bed

2 Nov 2011 - 20 mths plus Got the shock of my life when I heard XX's cry and I can't find her on the bed.. It took me abt 2 seconds to realize she fell of the bed.. She was flat on the floor with the face facing downwards.. I immediately carried and comforted her.. Daddy who was slping in the living room because he was sick also rushed into the room.. We inspected her face and head, no red patches or bumps.. It's 不幸中的大幸.. So how did she fell off the bed? She was lying besides me, I'm on her left, and I put 2 pillows on her right (as if daddy was sleeping by her side), no pillows at her feet area because we have a thick quilt.. Potty Training

A lot of pple started potty training at really young age like 3 or 4 mths old.. But im pretty lazy mummy, mine started only at abt 16 mths old, when we have a home of our own.. As of now, she will notify us when she wants to do big business.. For the wee wee part, she is still not able to control very well.. hee..

Today, Daddy put her on normal toilet with the potty seat cover (see 2nd pic). She was fascinated, because her stools went "Dom.. Dom.. Dom..". LOL..

Fun at Suntec City

Daddy brought us to the sky garden playground at suntec city. XX was soooo happy. Just look at the photos  below. =)

Afterwhich, we proceeded to Toys R Us. Daddy wanted to get a "rocking horse" for XX. We spotted 2 of it, one priced $59.90 and the other at $79.90. Of cos if given a choice between that 2, i will prefer the cheaper one. But $59.90 for that kind of rocking horse, hmmm... , cant bring myself to buy it. So i told daddy that we shall source for cheaper and nicer ones elsewhere.

Growing Up

• About 2 weeks ago, we realised XX knows how to repeat ABCs and 123s (English and Chinese) after us.
• Yesterday, she knows how to say 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 without our help.
• Today, TYL came over to our house and she knows how to call uncle NIC.

New words

29 Sep 2011 - 19 mths plus

My precious learned new words today.. "Mermaid", "Flower"..
Credit goes to my MIL. She pasted stickers all over the bathroom wall, bought lots of bathing toys for XX, so that XX can learn while bathing..
So what do we have in the bathtub? We have frog, tortise, duck, pig, fish, mermaid and snow white shower bottles, and many many more..

Some cute moment:
1) XX put on a hairband, walked towards me, *nodding her head*, and said "nice nice" (trying to tell me the hairband looks nice on her)
2) XX took off the hairband on her head, passed to ye ye, *nodding her head*, and said "ye ye dai" (asking ye ye to put on the hairband like her)

I get little surprises like this everyday.. All thanks to my precious.. Love her to the max..

Another stage of life..

Back from Hougang, as we were driving up the carpark at punggol, daddy asked xx whether she wants to go "zooooooo..", which is the sound effect of going down a slide (We had been using this term ever since the trip to vivo city playground, about one month ago. She was going down the slide real slow and produced the sound effect "zoooooo.." herself. That's what i call self-entertain.). She immediately went "ai ya, ai ya" (yes in hokkien), which i cant be bothered at all, bcos that's always the answer we get whenever we ask a yes/no qns (Sometimes really wonder if she listens to what we were asking).

When we arrived at the playground, there were 2 jie jies (about 2 and 4 yrs old), walking up and down the slides, not sliding down the slides, it's WALKING up and down the slides bare footed. Monkey see monkey do, xx took off her shoes and started to climb up the slide.

Climb up and slide down, that's the highlight for the night.

When it's time to go home, she refused.. Instead of going in the same direction with us, she went the opposite.. One minute had past and she was still not going the same way, daddy ran over to carry her. She whinned and pointed to the playground, i know what she wanted, to stay behind and keep playing. We never have issues getting her to leave a certain place, this made me realized, she is growing day by day.

The Tortise

Daddy was trying to replace the water in the tank, so he let the Tortise roam freely in the bathroom.
As little xx was by his side, he asked, " where is the Tortise going?", xx answered "Gai Gai!!" without hesitation..
She loves "Gai Gai" to the max. Whenever she's at hougang, she will request my father or mother to bring her go Gai Gai, to the extend whereby as soon as she steps into the house, back from her walk, she will turn to my father and says "Gai Gai!!"

XX's left over food

She will ask for food at any time of the day.. Non stop of "mum mum"..
But she hardly finishes her food.. Always left abt half the portion and she will pass the food to either daddy or myself..
Eg. Banana, kit kat, chicken wing, jelly..
If the food reaches my hand, normally I will help her to finish it.. How to slim down?!?!?!?

20 Aug 2011 - 18 mths plus

Woke up ard 6.30am, turning and tossing in the bed until about 7.30am, took a shower and we proceed to Raffles hospital for the jab. Mummy thought the appointment was at 9am, but in fact it's at 9.30am, and Dr Tan arrived at about 9.45am.. (what's new, doctors always have the privilege to be late)

My weight is 9.2kg, height is unknown. Looks like i've lost some weight this time round. Again.. Dr Tan says im slightly underweight.. But it's okie, bcos mummy and daddy are also tall and skinny, i have their genes.. =)

What is the doctor doing?

As mummy told Dr Tan that i have not been eating well, only able to finish half the portion of my meal all the time, so Dr Tan prescribed Pharmaton (Multivitamin syrup) for me to take everyday.. The syrup is orange flavoured, but with a v strong medi smell, it doesn't taste good at all..

By right the next jab will be at 7 yrs old, but Dr Tan recommended that i should take Hep B jab at the age of 2 yrs old, so... my next meet up with Dr Tan will be on the 18 Feb 2012.

While waiting to make payment, mummy went to ask the nurse, how to calculate the amount of paracetamol that i should drink.. Reason is bcos we still have those old paracetamol in our fridge which will only expire in a few mths time..

Depends on the childs body weight. Generally you can calculate 10 to 15 mg per kg body weight of the child.
for eg: if your child weighs 30 kg you can give him 300mg to 450 mg of paracetamol which can be repeated every four hours if needed.
But be careful that the dosage does not exceed more than 100 mg per kg body weight in 24 hrs. that is for a 30 kg child you should not exceed a dose of 3000mg in a day.

Calculation from the pharmacist:
9.2kg should take 3ml of paracatamol or 4ml of neurofen

My dear princess pinched her ah ma on the leg, ah ma dotes on her therefore just laugh it off.. of cos i became the devil and scolded her and showed her the cane.. Immediately she went into protection of ah ma, sit on ah ma's lap so that i wont be able to use the cane on her. She dare not look into my eyes as i was showing an angry face, but she peeped and checked on my mood shortly after.

And then... walked to me and showed me some "Ka Ka" to make me forget about her wrong doings.. Smart right?!?!??!

Growing Up

• I have 11 teeth - 6 on top, 5 at the bottom
• I take 3 to 4 feedings of milk per day, day feed is abt 200-250ml per feed, and night feed is abt 100-150ml
• I take 2 feedings of solid food per day, either porridge, rice or noodle
• I take snacks at any time of the day - it's my fav!
• I take nap twice a day - one in the morning, one in the afternoon
• I know how to call "Papa", "Mama", "Gong Gong", "Ah Ma", "Ye Ye", "Nai Nai", "Jiu Jiu", "Gor Gor", "Yi Yi", "Yi Por", "Ah Zhor", "Auntie", "Uncle", "Jie Jie", "Mei Mei"
• I know how to say "Ello", "Bye Bye", "No More", "One More", "No No", "Yao", "Ai ya", "Aiyoo", "Go", "Zou", "Gai Gai", "Bao Bao" and many many more..
• I like to watch Barney and Hi 5
• I know how to copy pple - eg. when Ma Ma hit Papa, i will also do the same
• Mama no longer needs to pat me to slp, i can slp on my own as long as they lie down on the bed with me
• Whenever i see strangers around, i will want either ma ma or papa to carry me
• I started running at abt 16 - 17 mths old
• No stranger is allowed to carry me unless they use food as a bait

Shocked by her behaviour

We were at a restaurant in KL, i scolded the princess because she refused to eat and keep playing with food. Shortly after, she showed her frustration by throwing her sunglass over the table, and also put up an angry face with the eyes looking down. I was shocked by this behaviour, now she knows how to retaliate, at such a young age.......

No fault of a 15 mth old toddler

Heard this story from a cousin-in-law.

At a baby shower, a mother placed her cup of drink on houseowner's laptop, her son (15mth old) accidentally spilled the cup of drink. Everyone helped out in cleaning the laptop and houseowner apologized for not keeping the laptop in a proper place.
Mother was not even sorry for placing the cup of drink on the laptop, in fact she went to scold the 15mth old son in front of everybody, for being so mischievous, spilling the water, and embarassed her in front of so many pple..

This story made me realize XX is still young, there's a lot more for her to learn, I shouldn't flare up at her that often, I MUST control my temper, I MUST not be like the mother in the above story..

Went for my 15th mth jab today. As usual, i cried reallly loud in the clinic.

My weight is 9.4kg and doc says it's average size and also im slightly tall (forgotten the measurement)..

A monsterous day for mummy and daddy..

• i will sit in the stroller for less than 3 mins.. i would rather walk on my own.. if mummy and daddy make me sit in the stroller, i will make noise and cry..


• i will not sit in the car seat for long, if mummy and daddy make me stay in the car seat, i will make noise and cry..


• i do not want mummy or daddy to carry my for long, if they do, i will make noise and wriggle like a worm


• i will skip meals in the evening, if mummy and daddy force me to eat or drink, i will close my mouth tight..

Pampers Sale at Giant

$48.65 for 2 boxes of pampers.. Each box have 2 packs of pampers, 44 pcs of M size diapers in each pack.. So it's 176 pcs for $48.65, 1 pc is abt $0.28.. Since i can wear size L from 9kg onwards, mummy bought 1 box of M and 3 boxes of L, total abt 316pcs of diapers.. these can last me for about 2 mths.. =)

Stand on my own without support

Jiu Jiu was having fun with Dominic Kor Kor, asking him to stand up and squat down. Monkey see monkey do, i did the same thing as Dominic Kor Kor.. After numerous tries, i finally made it.. Stand on my own without support!!

Japan.. but..

We were suppose to be on SQ, fly to Japan - Tokyo.. But daddy and mummy made the decision to cancel the trip due the recent Sendai Earth Quake on 11 Mar 2011.. We were lucky because we were not in Japan when the disaster happened, and we have got everything full-refunded, air tix, hotels and travel insurance.

Growing up

• I am 8.1kg as of 12 mths plus
• I have 6 teeth, 4 at the top, 2 at the bottom
  
• I can crawl on fours (no more leopard crawl)
  
• I can stand with support
• I can walk 2 steps on my own (after the 2 steps, i will bounce towards the destination / people)
• I can chiong in my walker
• I know how to cross the divider between the living room and the kitchen (pull up the walker slightly with 2 hands at the side)
  
• I can drink milk on my own (with blanket on my chest supporting the milk bottle)
• I am drinking friso formula milk 3 times a day, 7.30am - 250ml, 2.30pm - 250ml and 9pm - 150ml
• I am eating porridge twice a day, 11.30am and 5.30pm
• I can nap 3 to 4 times a day, about every 1.5 to 2hrs after my last nap
  
• I know how to say "Arh!", "Nei Nei", "Nai Nai", "Papa", "Ah Ma", "Oooo"...
• I know where is my hair, eyes, nose, mouth, ear, hand and leg
• I know how to nod and shake my head
• I know how to dance / shake my body

My saliva drips like a tap nowadays, most probably bcos of my new upper teeth, 4 at the same time.. Mummy is very happy.. Bcos she can feed me with meat and fish now.. *yeah*
